Aims
FRIENDS OF NICHOLAS BREAKSPEAR SCHOOL (“FNBS”)
The Friends of Nicholas Breakspear School is a major initiative bringing together parents, school governors and staff to support the school in three different areas:
• Fundraising: Finding easy and effective ways of raising funds to improve facilities, provide equipment in the school and also support our long-term plans to rebuild the school.
• Past Pupils: Establishing a past pupils association with the aim of maintaining links with former students.
• Events: Enriching and supporting our school community with refreshments, some social events and activities.
The Friends are in the process of applying for charitable status and Trustees have been appointed. The key to our fundraising must be to find ways that really are simple and easy. We will be asking you to give your support in a variety of ways which could include supporting our very simple 50/50 club at a cost of £12.00 per year, or helping to identify business sponsors. We also arrange various fundraising events including our annual Nicky B’ Jamboree.
Some of the items which have already been funded by the FNBS are an interactive whiteboard for the Modern Foreign Languages Department, new equipment for the Music Department and our current goal is to purchase benches for the playground areas.
