It is a requirement of the school that students from Years 7 to 11 wear the recognised school uniform.

For Boys:

  • Navy Blazer with badge
  • Charcoal grey or black trousers. Belts worn on trousers must be plain black
  • Blue shirt
  • School pullover
  • Black shoes
  • School tie with collar buttoned
  • Black or grey socks
  • PE uniform

For Girls:

  • Navy Blazer with badge
  • Knee-length, navy blue, stitch-pleated school skirt - available from Stevensons only. Lycra skirts not permitted. Side-splits not permitted.
  • Navy-blue, loose fitting, tailored school trousers - available from Stevensons only
  • Light blue blouse
  • Navy blue school pullover (v-necked trimmed with school colours) Optional
  • Plain black or navy outdoor coat WITHOUT logos. Hooded tops are NOT permitted
  • Plain black sensible shoes. Shoe must cover the whole foot.
  • Plain black, navy, flesh-coloured tights or white socks/tights. Patterned tights not permitted. Socks or tights MUST always be worn (bare legs are NOT permitted)
  • PE uniform

For both girls and boys, outdoor coats must be plain black or navy blue with no logos. Hooded tops are NOT permitted. Trainers are not permitted, except for formal PE lessons. The school's uniform stockist is Stevensons of Victoria Street, St Albans. They also supply sportswear for boys and girls. A second-hand uniform shop is organised by the School Association.

Although students in Years 12 and 13 do not wear school uniform, they are expected to follow a dress code which sets the highest standards in dress and personal appearance, as appropriate to a working environment.

General Information

Make-up, nail varnish, nail art arefalse nails are not permitted

Jewellery is not permitted except for one pair of earrings (sleepers or plain studs) for girls, worn in the ear lobe

Trainers and plimsoles are not permitted, except for formal P.E. lessons

Hair should be kept neat and tidy at all times and there should be no extremes of hairstyles. This means that:

(a) Designs or patterns should not be cut into the hair (or eyebrow)

(b) There should be no extremes in terms of hair dye/colouring

(c) There should be no shorn/"skinhead" style haircuts (lowest grade 2 cut)

Boys should be clean shaven

All pupils should be neat and tidy at all times. Shirts and blouses must be tucked in, and ties must be done up correctly (five stripes showing)

The only visible clothing should be the official designated school uniform.

FAILURE TO MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS OF UNIFORM COULD RESULT IN YOUR CHILD BEING WITHDRAWN FROM LESSONS

THE DEPUTY HEADTEACHER (INCLUSION) RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE THE FINAL DECISION WITH REGARD TO UNIFORM ISSUES
