This is a comprehensive visual dictionary of more than 3,000 art terms, along with illustrations, pronunciation notes, and quotations. The index section is fantastic for research work, particularly if you are studying a particular artist or art movement. (much better than Google)

Year 8 Mask Making Project
These masks are based on the Commedia Dell Arte and are made with papier mache and the corners ofcardboard boxes. The students eventually use them as part of a performance during their Drama lessons.
Mosaic Making
St. Albans has a fine tradition of Mosaic making, going back to the Romans at Verulanium. In Year 8 we base our mosaic designs on animals.Some students have made large frogs fron mod-roc (A type of plaster) while others have opted for a more 'traditional' method of mosaic design.
