Key Stage 3

At Key stage 3, pupils in year 7 to 9 get 1 hour of ICT each week in the ICT department. In addition, pupils study ICT across the curriculum. All pupils follow the KS3 strategy for ICT. The enthusiasm of our pupils leads to many of them making use of the lunchtime access to practice their skills and develop them further.Students follow our own scheme of work, which covers all the ICT requirements of the National Curriculum.Topics are studied over half termly period and are assessed at the end of each topic, on a portfolio of evidence which they compile from class and home work, and is awarded at National Curriculum Level.

Key Stage 4

Pupils are given the option to study GCSE Information Technology in which students learn to use and appreciate ICT in vocational and 'real world' contexts, thereby preparing them for employment and offering a solid foundation for continued study at Post-16This course in examined by Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations

Key Stage 5

Building on students' understanding and skills gained at KS4, we are able to offer AS/ A2 level Applied Information Technology examined by Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations. This provides students with a strong interest in this subject an opportunity to begin to establish themselves as a proficient user, and practioner of ICT.
