Key Stage 3 Science
What is taught at Key Stage 3?
During years 7, 8 and 9 students are taught the National Curriculum and are prepared for taking their SATS examination at the end of year 9. Our schemes of work are broadly based on the ones produced by QCA.
During year 7 students are taught Science in their forms to foster friendship and discussion. At the end of year 7 they are split up into sets, to decrease the class sizes and allow more focus at the level each student is working towards. During year 9 each group has three teachers, one for Biology, one for Chemistry and one for Physics, to encourage and motivate students across the curriculum and allow time for examination preparation at the end of year 9. After year 9, the students move up into Key Stage 4 and the GCSE years.
In year 7 we take our students to Whipsnade Wild Animal Park to study conservation... click for more details.
