German Work Experience

For the second leg of our German/English work experience / exchange, the German students came to visit us. From 27th September to 11th October our A-level students, along with two other families, were hosts for seven German students, from Nieder-Olm Grammar School near Mainz.

This year, they all worked as teacher aids in the following local Primary/Junior schools: Our Lady in Welwyn Garden City, SS Alban & Stephen & Margaret Wix in St Albans and Little Heath in Potters Bar.

Two weeks of work experience gave them a good insight of the general everyday routine at school and all the students reported positively about their work in the schools. At the weekends, we introduced them to St. Albans and London including a Thames river cruise which they all enjoyed. Madame Tussauds was a favourite as always.

They visited us in school on 6th October, taking part in year 11 and 6th Form lessons, which they found a very good experience. Thank you to Matthew Bridgeman, Ruairi Cassidy and Sean Corr who took part in this year's exchange and to everyone who supported us. A2 German Class
